Nashville is more than a weekend holiday destination. While many visitors come to party on honky tonk-lined Broadway Street, Nashville is much more than a bachelor/bachelorette destination. The state capital of Tennessee offers a luxury' food scene, great museums, beautiful parks, and cool districts with nice cafés.
I always like visiting (it's one of my favorite cities in the United States). Because Nashville doesn't have a fantastic public transit system, it's crucial to prepare ahead of time and investigate the area you want to stay in. You'll be taking a lot of pricey Ubers otherwise.
Here is my summary of the top neighborhoods in Nashville (along with hotel alternatives for each) to help you decide where to stay in Nashville.
Where to Stay in Nashville for sight - seeing: SoBro
SoBro (South of Broadway) is right in the middle of everything, although it's not quite on the rowdy bar-lined Broadway. It also houses the Country Music Hall of Fame, which is a popular (and must-see) attraction. The only issue is that there aren't many cheap places to stay here. Keep in mind that you are paying a premium for location when making your reservation. If you want to stay in a great, central location yet away from the insanity of famous Broadway, this is the place to be!
BUDGET: Bode
This is ideal for budget tourists looking for a central location. This hotel boasts really comfy accommodations as well as a classic in-house café where you can unwind with a cup of coffee. The staff is pleasant. It's the greatest deal in town.
MIDRANGE
Placemakr SoBro - This lovely hotel is conveniently located near several of Nashville's key attractions, including the Johnny Cash Museum and the Ryman Auditorium. The parquet flooring and trendy furnishings are lovely, the mattresses are comfy, and the staff is quite kind.
LUXURY Hotel Nashville
If you're looking for ambiance, this sustainably-minded luxury resort offers 56,000 plants dispersed around the hotel, as well as big rooms with wood-paneled walls. I love this brand because their rooms are beautiful, the mattresses are quite soft, and the rain shower is fantastic. If you have a larger budget, you should absolutely stay here.
Midtown's Best Places to Stay
BUDGET:
Hampton Inn & Suites – This motel is ideal for families on a tight budget. It's pet-friendly, has a spacious pool, and breakfast is included. It's close to Vanderbilt University.
MIDDLE:
Hyatt House Nashville at Vanderbilt University — The rooms at this clean and pleasant three-star hotel directly adjacent to the university are large and include blackout curtains to guarantee a good night's sleep. I like the seasonal outdoor pool and the complimentary breakfast. It's a normal, reasonably priced Hyatt resort.
LUXURY:
The Graduate – The Graduate is a boutique hotel with vibrant colors, music vibrations, and a throwback style. They have a pretty amazing Dolly Parton-themed rooftop bar. I like how their rooms combine contemporary art vibes with classic Southern B&B charm. It's a really one-of-a-kind location to stay.
